It is always an honour to be asked to photograph a couples wedding, this goes without saying. However, I am truly honoured to be one of two photographers to be selected to photograph my dear friends upcoming wedding. I am shooting the ceremony. Yes, just the ceremony. But why is it “just” when it is the reason people gather for the day?
The groom in question is Shelton Muller, a name familiar to those who have followed my path. This man took me from an enthusiast photographer and guided (more like shoved!) me to becoming a professional.
He has at his beck and call nothing less than an army of photographers that he could call on to photograph his day. He has chosen a photographer I admire and respect greatly to shoot the “location” photographs and I applaud his choice. Then he floored me by asking me to shoot the ceremony, in his mind the most important part of the day.
To quote Shelton “Rich shoots a mean ceremony”. I of course asked if Tamara could second shoot for me (to get those shots that she always does!).
Shelton and Tash. Thank you for the huge honour you have bestowed on me. I look forward to shooting my meanest ceremony yet.
